A House with History.
Casa da Capelinha is a lovingly restored Madeiran manor that has been in our family for over 200 years. With a total of 12 holiday apartments, guests can enjoy relaxed moments by our pool on one of the most beautiful islands in the world.
Our Chapel
Take a walk through history in our chapel, Capela dos Reis Magos, built in the 16th century. Our family restored this chapel in the 2004 and it is a historic part of Casa da Capelinha. It is classified as a monument of municipal interest. On the main altar you will find an altarpiece representing the Adoration of the Magi, with paintings dedicated to St. John the Baptist and a Bishop of the Church.
Pool with Ocean & Mountain Views
There’s no better place to relax and admire the view than our pool. Overlooking the Atlantic, our pool invites guests to take a refreshing dip while letting your gaze wander to the horizon or up into the mountains. It is 11 x 5 meters large and up to 1.5 meters deep and shared between all apartments. We recommend parents to watch out for their children as the pool is not supervised.
Restaurante “Baixas”
We welcome you to dine at our restaurant or come have a drink in our bar, where you can taste some of our homemade traditional poncha. Our restaurant uses fresh, local ingredients to create authentic and tasty dishes. Feel free to take your drink outside to the terrace, where you can admire the view of the Atlantic, or back to the pool area.
Hours: Monday through Friday from 18:00 - 22:00, Saturday from 14:00 - 22:00 and closed on Sundays
Garden and Barbecue
This area is shared between all apartments. Our garden has a wide array of tropical plants, stone paths, terraces, and a fireplace calling for casual BBQs hosted by us in the summer months. A wooden table invites for outdoor dining between wild flowers and palm trees.
Solarium and Game Room
Our common room is the perfect place to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine. You can also come play some pool, boardgames and cards.
